eSavV's Latest Software Project announced at TEDx Hong Kong

eSavV Technologies ®, an advanced technology solutions provider building mobile smartphone and tablet applications, enterprise software solutions and web-based software, will have one of its latest projects announced at the TEDx Conference in Hong Kong.

GLeaM (Global Leadership Matrix) as this project is called, is a web-based software application that collects and processes business relationship data to enable cutting-edge analysis by the renowned faculty at Columbia Business School.  The research will be published in academic journals and other literature.

GLeaM is the brainchild of Sheena Iyengar, who is a renowned expert in the field of choice.  Understanding how people make decisions is an important concept in the business world to identify how leaders make decisions and what influences good or bad choices.  Sheena’s work has been cited in Fortune and Time magazines, the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, The Wall Street Journal and she has also been a guest on CNN, CNBC, CBS and The Today Show.

This application is a statistical web-based application that collects information related to professional business relationships and processes that information to produce sophisticated graphs exposing business-peer relationship traits and leadership characteristics.

The development team at eSavV Technologies implemented sophisticated mathematical algorithms and slick web-based data collection techniques.  The application leverages cloud-computing by implementing web services which handle most of the data processing logic.  This layer of web services allows future expansion of the GLeaM application by reusable web service components that can be called by any programmed interface, including mobile applications.

The information is collected in steps that are categorized and classified using behavior-based web design techniques.  There are several survey types called "instruments" from which a user can create an account and complete each survey.  There are save points in the survey so the user can return at their own convenience to finish the survey if they do not complete it in one sitting.  The completion of each survey results in various reports and representation of data via graphs.  The application disseminates the information and provides valuable feedback and insights to the user about their decision making characteristics.

“The project was a challenge,” says Michael Croft, CEO of eSavV Technologies, “but our team came together and solved many advanced programming functions.  The data collection process posed challenges because we had to consider ease-of-use to create a survey that is simple and fun for people to fill out, yet collects enough information to provide valuable analysis and reporting.  The mathematical knowledge required for this project was significant, and our senior engineers and mathematician pulled it off.  This project required high skill-sets and I am very proud of the result.”
